If the above scenarios sound familiar to you, then this is the training for you!

​

As a CAREER RETURNER (with a career gap) OR A CAREER TRANSITIONER (with a desire to change the type of job you do), you need a skills-based resume, an unusual profile, a different way of writing your experiences + potential.

​

Designed as a 2-part training, the in-person workshop will highlight the styles, format and specific points that you will need to overcome the career challenges you face as a career returner or a career transitioner. 

This is followed by an online one-on-one critique of your resume (POST Workshop) with an assigned coach, who will vet and makes suggestions on how YOUR resume can be improved.

About the trainers/ facilitators

​

Sher-li is the founder & director of Mums@Work (Singapore) - a social enterprise that supports women. Formerly heading the postgraduate team at the Office of Career Services at the Singapore Management University (SMU), she has held various roles in different industries. In addition to her businesses, Sher-li conducts “Training of Career Coaches” for Ngee Ann Polytechnic – where she trained lecturers about career services for tertiary educators. She has also conducted a series of workshop for ECG Career Coaches of schools for the Ministry of Education. She runs adhoc career workshops for National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD). Her areas of focus are: MBTI in the workplace, Resume writing, Interview Skills, Networking, Cross-cultural Training in the Workplace, Assessment Centre preparation and Career-transitioning Job Search processes. As co-founder of Career navigators, she is involved in the training of hiring managers on interviewing and onboarding techniques for back-to-work hire and/ or career transitioners. As part of her work, she has to shortlist resumes for hiring campaigns and is familiar with the way recruiters assess resumes of experienced hires. She is currently also a business trainer for the business school at Ngee Ann polytechnic. Sher-li is certified in the administration of leading assessment instruments, including the Meyer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and CareerLeader, and also holds a Business degree from National University of Singapore.

Deborah is the Director and Partner at Career Navigators (subsidiary of Mums@Work). Her work in Career Navigators involves supporting employers to hire career returners who have taken time off from work, and/or career transitioners who are looking for a change in their job role or industry. As part of the partnership with different employers, she is deeply involved in the reviewing and shortlisting of candidates for the various career opportunities across firms. Before joining Career Navigators as a Partner, Deborah set up her own boutique search firm and also spent more than 8 years in Regional Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partnering roles in top-tier banks and asset management firms. In her HR roles, she worked closely with Business Leaders in various key aspects of HR, including Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement and Performance Management. Besides, Deborah spent over 3 years with the Office of Career Services at the Singapore Management University, where she helped undergraduates in securing internships and jobs with financial institutions, including providing career counselling and advisory services to the undergraduates. Deborah graduated from the National University of Singapore, with a Bachelor of Arts (majors in Sociology & Philosophy).

ALKA is a multi-lingual human resources practitioner with over 30 years of HR & legal experience. She provides neuro-leadership coaching, intercultural training & executive career coaching to Individuals, high school and university students in Singapore & around the region. She has also successfully coached clients in transition during their expatriate assignment. In Singapore, she provided advisory services to the Career Resource Centre for Excellence (CRCE), a program run by the American Association of Singapore (AAS), with continuous support in their career-related programs. She was the CRCE Manager from 2008-2017, where she delivered career coaching workshops to a diverse expatriate population from over 40+ nations.Originating from Hong Kong, she speaks fluent Cantonese and worked with multinational companies, legal firms & schools in Hong Kong. She has obtained two Masters Degrees (HR Mgt & NeuroLeadership). Also, an Accredited Coach with the International Coaching Federation (PCC) & Certified Career Coach, Interview & Resume Professional. Alka is a coach on the JumpStart Reintegration Programme (JSP), which specialises in helping back-to-work returners and career transitioners build a career.

KAREN's career spanned more than 20 years in the Human Resource & Development functions in multi-national companies in both consultancy and regional operational HR roles. In 2008, Karen underwent a career transition from the corporate world to working independently as a HR Professional, Mentor and Coach to integrate time with the family. Since then, Karen has assisted organisations, both local enterprises and MNCs, in developing and enhancing their HR practices to further engage their employees. As a Coach, Karen works with individuals who are at a career transition stage, supporting them in the re-discovery of an alternative career options, reviewing their resumes & facilitating mock interviews. Karen also coaches senior executives to become a more effective leader within the corporate context. Karen has a Master’s degree in Asia Pacific Human Resource Management with National University of Singapore, is a certified Management Consultant and approved SkillsFuture Mentor by Enterprise Singapore as well as Professional Coach. Karen is also a JSP programme manager and has successfully helped many mothers return to work.

MING HUI is a leadership coach, trainer  and mindfulness instructor with over twenty years corporate experience leading regional high-performing teams in supply chain, market development, finance, and HR. Harnessing her own transformative mindfulness journey, she is committed to empowering individuals and teams to flourish by accessing their inner strengths and expanding their core capacity. Ming Hui is also a Trained Teacher in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness: Teaching in the Workplace, certified by the University of Oxford Mindfulness Foundation. Authentic, culturally sensitive and multilingual, she has worked with clients from various industries across Asia Pacific.  Clients say that Ming Hui asks them questions they ought to ask themselves but don’t, uncovering insights that propel them towards their intended goals. Ming Hui is a JSP programme manager and also a Work-Integrating-Life Coach with Mums@Work.

PATTY began her Human Resources career with reputable multi-national companies in both business partner and regional operation roles for over 25 years. 2014 marked a major milestone for Patty as she turned from a HR practitioner to a professional coach.  She provides career and life coaching with clients who are in facing challenges at a career transition stage, leadership development or encounter midlife transition.  Patty is originally from Hong Kong and now based in Singapore. She received her business degree with Monash University Australia. She speaks fluent Cantonese and English.  She obtained her (ACC) Credential of International Coaching Federation (ICF) since 2018 and she is also a trained mediator, resume writing & interview profession in Singapore & Hong Kong. Patty holds several certifications of coaching assessment tools – MBTI, Harrison Assessment, and other Coaching Games in her coaching toolkits. Patty is a programme manager in the JSP programme and also a coach of the Work-Integrating-Life (WIL) programme.

SANGEETHA graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Business (honours) majoring in Human Resource and minor in Information Technology. She built her 18-year career in human resource development starting from executive roles and in her most recent stint as a Country Human Resource Director leading a team in HR business partnering. She has previously worked in government agencies such as National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and Singapore Tourism Board, and in the private sector with The Ascott Limited under CapitaLand.  She has experience in various facets of human resource management such as industry manpower development, strategic HRM, talent attraction, change management, organisation development, talent management, training & development, business partnering, employee engagement etc. In her capacity in internal HR roles, Sangeetha has been instrumental in developing leadership development competency frameworks/ roadmaps and curated training programmes inhouse and partnered with consultants/ trainers to design bespoke programmes. She championed the launch of a suite of new leadership intervention programmes such as 360-degree feedback,  coaching and mentoring and peer coaching for young talents and high potentials in STB while navigating the change management journey along with the company.  She also facilitates HR related classroom training programmes for hospitality players under Ascott Centre of Excellence (ACE), an accredited training centre. While HR gets digital and strategic, Sangeetha believed that meaning conversations with people was a game changer in making them feel valued. She gains a great sense of satisfaction in knowing that those she has coached/ guided and who have progressed still show their appreciation to her for what she has seen in or done for them. Sangeetha is a JSP Programme Manager.

TENG TENG is a trained career coach with more than 20 years of experience. She holds the belief that if we can have the clarity on how we can add value to others, the problems we like to solve, there will always be opportunities out there for us. With that philosophy, she focuses on helping her clients to gain clarity on what truly matter to them and explore how their work can encompass that. Teng Teng’s approach to career coaching is not just about finding a job, but to explore integrating “who you are” and “your work” to achieve personal satisfaction. Teng Teng obtained her Masters of Human Development & Education from the George Washington University. She is an accredited coach by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and a Career Management Fellow (CMF) accredited by the Institute of Career Certification International.
